“What!” Tim screamed “I can’t be fired I’ve been working here my whole life!” The boss replied “I’m terribly sorry; it’s only because of the economic crisis I hope you don’t take it personally.” Tim stormed out of the room and headed for his desk .The boss sent two guards to make sure Tim didn’t steal any information about the company. There was a moment of silence followed by Tim shouting, “You’ll regret this!”
In Tim’s mind he felt like he had been betrayed; the boss had took his ideas the other day and now this was how the boss was ‘rewarding’ him? Tim went to a pub to sink his sorrows.
The next day Tim woke up finding himself sleeping in a pool of his own saliva. He suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head. He was dizzy, he felt like puking. To get rid of that feeling, he drank even more beer but to his dismay it just got worse. In a few seconds he found himself ‘talking’ to his plants. The sun shone brightly on his eyes, he tried to shield his eyes but ended up spilling beer on his face. Frustrated he placed the beer bottle on the ledge, as he turned; he accidently knocked the bottle off the ledge… …
In a split second, the sound of shattering glass followed by a piercing scream was heard, Tim froze. He knew what that meant; he could already see his life behind bars.
Should he help?
Should he not?
Should he hide?
Not knowing if his decision was right, he went to help. Tim ran unsteadily down, he could see an unconscious boy on the floor with shattered glass all over. A passerby called the police and ambulance. There was huge commotion as the paramedics and police arrived. Even before police started their investigation Tim turned himself in. As an act of negligence Tim had a jail term of ten months.
Tim learnt that he should not drink to drown his sorrows but stay positive and move on.
